Skill Gaining and Skills

Postby Damion » Thu Apr 17, 2014 4:08 pm

Skill gaining will get tougher as your total amount of skills gets closer to the skill cap of 700. It is wise to train the hardest skills first in order to achieve quicker skill gains for these skills. Skills on UO Epidemic are based on the Ultima Online Renaissance era.

Stun ability can be toggled on or off by having wrestling and anatomy

Disarm ability can be toggled on or off by having wrestling and arms lore

Some weapons have special moves such as spears = paralyzing blow maces = crushing blow swords = concussion blow

For alchemy and inscription templates with poisoning, they do not have an effect on poisoning but add something to the template. Alchemy adds more attacking power while inscription can increase a player's defenses.

Alchemy gives a damage bonus to explosion potions being thrown

Inscription will give longer protection and reactive armor spells and will increase the amount of circles reflected from 8 circles to 15 circles being reflected at 100 inscription (this bonus only occurs at 100 inscription)

Lumberjacking gives a 10% damage bonus when attacking with an axe.

You could check out http://www.uoguide.com/skills for other information BUT I do not know how relevant all the information will be about the specifics of skills. There may be bits and pieces of relevant information and other information which is completely irrelevant and related to a different era. For example if you look at the inscription skill on that page it has information about AOS era attributes. If you have other questions about skills at UO Epidemic, I will be more than happy to answer them.

How does one raise a trade skill to 115? If you are capped at 700 total, does another have to go down?

One increases a skill past 100 by using a 105 powerscroll which can be obtained from a champion boss. Powerscrolls must be used in order 105, 110, 115 and 120 to increase ones skill. A 120 powerscroll cannot be used until a 105, 110 and 115 powerscroll has be used in that skill. The total skillcap will remain 700 even if powerscrolls have been used. So if a player is a 7X GM(7x100skill) character, they must drop one skill in order to achieve a different skill over 100. This helps keep all templates balanced.
