Notes from the journal of the Dark Son Ahriman from his research on the Orc Brute evolution pet. With every thing that I have heard… I figured this series of test and trials would be the most fun, albeit costly as well. With such as it is we set out with the newly acquired slaves in tow, and set upon the search for these brutish monstrosities. It took nary even a fortnight to reach the destination… At this moment I feel as though I would burn this world to a crisp if I see another one of those damnable mushrooms… Needless to say these caves are covered in blood and reek of death… I love it!
Finally! We’ve got what we came for… I really wish I could unsee how we managed to get these sacks… You do not wish to know… *writing smudge and no longer legible*
I place my hand on the sack and it writhed a bit, much like a turtle egg in texture – an embryo… As I channeled power within it I could feel it grow. Suddenly it burst, blood splattered everywhere, a small orc was left standing there. A furious rage well behind its eyes, an intent on killing any and every thing. I liked what I see before me.
So we set it upon a few marauders camped south east of Yew, what I saw then was pure bliss to mine eyes. As it walked into their huts I swear it almost skipped in happy and overjoyed as it sensed an imminent fight. As I watched from concealment of my spells, it set upon a cutlass wielding man, tackled him and ripped the mans arm out of its socket and did the same with the leg of another… Needless to say it was quite amusing to see an arm being flailed about with the weapon still gripped firmly, and a booted foot being used as a club. The blood soaked the ground that evening and the orc took trophies from its victims, biting the left ears off each kill, if it had ears that is. A few hours passed before my little orc changed, in a blind rage against its own kin it let out a howl and magically mail and an axe appeared in its hand, an orc lord, I wondered, but that was reassured when its ferocity doubled and the hits would clearly fell any lesser being in one swing. But I did notice something that has happened quite often, but I noticed not until one day we were in the field around noon. A troll attacked my creature, and it let out a terrifying howl of anger, which seems to have been thrown at the would-be assailant, it shimmered and sparkled, you could sense the anger, as it flew and exploded upon its target.
Later in the evening whence being jumped by a few elementals, another hellscream was let loose by the orc as it grew in height and visibly faster then before, assassins and rangers call these beings Orc Scouts, a greater cunning and speed then most of their kin, but less respected overall for their lack of bloodlust. But the lack of bloodlust seems not to be diminished in the least. A few days later I my little limb-ripper grew again, an Orc Bomber in appearance, though it had no use of alchemy and potions because of its innate magical abilities. Not any less dangerous then before and still more then capable of dropping a few foolhardy and battle hardened troops in unison.
A few days later we we’re hunting in Destard when it did something quite hysterical… In a fight with a drake it ripped off the lower jaw of the dragon youngster, then subsequently cleaved the neck off at its shoulders and began using it as a dragon toothed… Whip…? The effect was bloodier then usual, but the effect is no less diminished. Upon being attacked by a blood elemental it was hard to tell exactly when it happened, but mid battle the orcs movements seems to have picked up speed, and when the elemental would attack it would miss more often then hit. A few of its blows being stopped in mid swing. To my astonishment I was looking into the blood lusting eyes of what appeared as a Juka Lord. Its rage controlled with precision and skill.
In the following training sessions we ramped up our difficulty, and to my surprise… which was huge…. the next form it appeared as a Titan. A full 7 feet taller then it was before the transformation, and later again, gained another 7 feet in height as it now is seen in its final frame of being of an Orc Brute. Among its own kind, they seem to know some thing is abnormal about him and attack on sight, even though they do not attack me when wearing one of their faces. The taunting of my pet was not lessened in the least with its murdering of countless hordes, calling it a Gargantuan Brute, as he faced off against the uncommon Bone Grinders, and the rare Ravager’s of Man.
I will say it was quite worth the time and trouble to do this research. It will prove useful in the coming years.
